This project explores how AI can enhance the divergent thinking of designers. Chameleon is an AI camera that can help industrial designers capture inspiration in daily life, and provides them with a unique perspective. Through AI analysis and style transfer, it can allow users to see interesting collisions between things, and designer can use Chameleon to build their own inspiration library to enhance their creativity.

Designers each have their own unique aesthetic sense and special methods for collecting inspiration. I interviewed some designers (industrial designers/cultural research designers), and they all have the habit of taking photos of unique items in their daily lives to collect in their albums. They use their eyes to explore unique items in the physical world, breaking free from the Information Cocoons
and homogenization brought about by digital inspiration websites. However, the way these items are collected in albums can be disorganized and hard to find. How can we better improve the experience of collecting inspiration?
This project intervenes in the design phase where designers(
industrial designer
) are exploring ideas. Through image analysis, style transfer, and the uncertainty︎ of AI, it provides users with information and inspiration.
This new tool will assist designers in two ways. One is to provide them with information about the object being photographed, giving them another perspective from AI. The second is to offer inspiration for design styles, using style transfer and uncertainty to blend and create new design languages, thereby stimulating designers' divergent thinking.

How to use?
1. Type in the topic you want to design. (For example:”Mouse”)
2. Go explore and find the object you like.
3. Take a picture of it.
4. “Chameleon”
will generate an image where the style is based on the object you've photographed, and the content is based on the topic of the object you've input.
5. Adjust the parameter to get different outcome.
6. “Chameleon” will collect all the image to the inspairation library.
